𝕍𝕠𝕝𝕥𝕒'𝕤 𝕡𝕤𝟚 𝕘𝕦𝕚𝕕𝕖!

Released in 2000, the PS2 is still the most sold console of all time (meaning its pretty good :p). This guide will get you set up with a fully modded PS2 console, as well as load it with >>>very legal backups of games you totally own<<<

Please note that as of Sunday 28th May 2022 this site is still in the works, please check back frequently for new updates. This is just a hobby for me so don't be disheartened if you don't see any updates in a week or so -- I haven't given up, I'm just lazy

So the first (and obvious) step is to get a PS2. Assuming you want to follow this tutorial to mod the shit out of it, it cannot be a SCPH 9xxxx model, as it runs BIOS version 2.30 and this method will NOT work, sorry ;(

The method in question is FreeMcBoot, which uses an exploit in the memory card system to boot into custom firmware. You can head over to eBay to pick up a modded memory card. I'm trying to get my filthy hands on a memory card to USB converter so I can dump all of the FreeMcBoot files onto any bogstandard memory card.

You should also grab a USB storage device to store games and other homebrew apps. The one I'm using is 500GB, which is probably overkill, so go for between that and 32GB and you'll be fine (probably, I've never ran into storage issues)
